Frequently Asked Questions
Children grow and time flies so quickly, especially in the sleepy newborn stage! The best time for those adorable soft and cuddly, newborn photos is in baby's first 2 weeks, so why not get in touch for a combined maternity and newborn package in the last few months of pregnancy!
For families with babies and older children, NOW is definitely the time to create some memories for you to keep forever!
My style is personal and genuine and I focus not only on getting the cheekiest grins out of your child, but also on the connections between you and your family. My clients are fun loving and relaxed and I love capturing candid and heartwarming images that show true emotion.
My photos sessions are fun and focus around tickle sessions, singing, playing and talking with you and your children. I’ll give directions to steer the shoot but I am a fairly laid back person and I want you to be relaxed so that I can create moments in time for you to look back on and treasure.
You can expect the session to last between 1-1.5 hours depending on how much your children are enjoying themselves!
What Should We Wear?
I want you to be as prepared as possible, so prior to your session, you will be sent a session guide, with ideas about what to wear and how to get the most out of your session. I even include some colour palette suggestions with ideas of how to mix and match the whole family’s wardrobe in a coordinated but not matching uniform way!
Often what you wear depends on your chosen location – light colours work well with light backgrounds (indoors on a white bed cover, at the beach, sandstone backdrops etc) and darker colours often work better in outdoor locations such as parks and greenery and urban locations etc. I also definitely encourage you to bring props as this makes the session unique to you and your family and is a fun way to break the ice.
Where Should We Hold Our Shoot?
Baby photography is best indoors at home, where everyone will be relaxed, comfortable and it's convenient. Your home does not need to look like something off Instagram or in a magazine – the rooms just need to have good natural light.
For older children and family photography, location shoots usually work better, somewhere where there is room to run around and explore! Beach sessions are my favourite and are great after the heat and the crowds die down, Farm sessions are my next favourite because of the personal nature of photographing you at a location that means so much to your family and then urban locations are great for lots of colours and textures.
So choose your home or your favourite scenic location for your photo shoot, or I can suggest locations if you prefer. You would be surprised at the great images you can get in your own backyard so don’t worry if you don’t have a harbour side location close to you!
How Soon Do I Need To Book?
Sessions are held of an evening on Thursdays, Saturdays or Sundays usually, although Junee dates do depend on when I am down there. Sessions are typically booked 2-4 weeks in advance, and weekend dates tend to book out the most quickly.
You can see all available photoshoot dates for both Junee and Sydney here.
If you need the images for a particular date, keep in mind that you will receive your gallery to view 2 weeks after your session. Once you have decided on your images and your payment has been received, it will take 2-4 weeks to receive your products depending on what you have ordered.
